Thanks for visiting our site and for thinking of us for your Jasper vacation or seasonal employment. Our hearts are with you and your loved ones as we all continue to make our way through these unprecedented times. Lock downs, restrictions, job losses, business upsets, the stress of working at home and having all kids there too… we really get it!

We’re in the same position as you right now. We are waiting, watching, and taking precautions to make sure we’re doing our part to help the world recover and heal. Our business is here to employ, serve, and contribute to the economy and to the well-being of all that come into contact with us.

COVID Safety Protocols

We have 7 departments at Sunwapta Falls: Front Desk, Gift Store, Restaurant, Kitchen, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Administration. Each department has developed specific sets of protocols in accordance with and in consultation with the Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association and Alberta Health Services. Also, we are operating under reduced capacity in all front facing departments. This ensures we are able to maintain safety and maximum control over environments while operating with less staff. As we all live on property, having less staff means each staff member has their own room rather than shared accommodations.

Departmental Measures and Property Wide Protocols include:

  • No in-restaurant dining. In accordance with Alberta Health Services measures only take out, outdoor or in-room dining is available for any of our services.
  • All staff, guests, and visitors are REQUIRED to wear masks in all indoor public spaces.
  • Social Distancing Measures
  • Engineered Spaces to ensure social distancing and / or protection to front line workers
  • Personal Protective Equipment available for anyone who has forgotten their mask before arrival.
  • Enhanced Hygiene Requirements for Staff
  • Daily Temperature and Symptom Log for all Staff
  • Staff maintain a ‘bubble’ all season. 2020 had ZERO COVID cases at Sunwapta.
  • Enhanced Cleaning Protocols with focus on high-touch surfaces, and includes removal of non-essential high-touch items in hotel rooms
  • Specific Amenities on Request. Coffee, tea etc will be available for hotel guests on request, and packaged in individual packets for safety assurance
  • Certified Anti-Viral Cleansers. Medical grade cleaning/disinfecting sprays and cleaners used
